Pass the parcel

Takes a little preparation. Cost: minimal.
Wrap up a small gift in layers of wrapping paper, adding in gifts in the layers.
Playing the game: - use music on/off to set where the parcel stops. Try to ensure everyone gets a gift (This is where knowing in advance how many children are coming to the party is really useful as you can plan the parcel making appropriately.

Musical chairs

You need enough chairs for all the children -1. Arrange them alternate ways round with plenty of room for people to walk around. Play music, when its stops the children have to get to a seat. Each turn someone should be left without a seat and they are out. Each turn take another seat away.

Memory Game

You need a tray full of small items. Lots of them. Interesting things or even small gifts. Give the children a short time to look at the items and remove one without anyone seeing and then they have to guess what is missing. You could give sweets as prizes or if you're using small gift items you could use that as the prize each time.
